Could you please help me in determining which Wippermann chain I need for my ST1 ?
The specs of my ST1 are as follows:
- Stromer ST1 v1 (2015) Elite P48
- 9 speed
- freewheel: Sunrace MFEX9 9AU 11/32T
- front chainring: Lasco 3/32 52T
I'd like to know which Wippermann chain I should buy:
-model: Wippermann Connex 9SE ?
-number of links: 124 ? 132 ? 136 ?
Thanks in advance

I think people here have proven that you shouldn't buy a Wippermann chain. They are about twice the price of KMC chains and perhaps marginally better.

Hi Freddy, thanks for your answer and the link to the very interesting discussion about KMC vs Wippermann. I note that both brands offer quality products.FreddyH schreef: ↑16 jun 2021, 14:51 I think people here have proven that you shouldn't buy a Wippermann chain. Note that I usually order parts on bike-discount.de or bike-components.de and for what I currently see both Wippermann 9SE and KMC e9 are about the same price there (around €40).
That being said, I don't use my ST1 very often (a few thousand km per year - I also have a Belt-driven R+M Tinker CX, an e-twow monster, a Vespa, a VTR-SP1 and a few other vehicles hence the km per vehicle is diluted), so I am probably not in the same scenario as someone who makes 20.000 Kms+ per year and for who a small difference in price/quality can become a substantial difference after one year.

True, unfortunately it's a known issue with this generation Stromers.

I do like the fact that you ride one of these. You hardly see them anymore, especially not in our regions. Feel free to share a picture of your Stromer in the topic below if you feel like it :

Thanks for your message Stromeur. I have had a look at the topic and saw lots of very nice pics. I will try to contribute some pics of my "vintage" ST1
I've read many of your posts about the Klever X Alpha 45, which to me looks like the perfect setup (in the same league as an MTB Code 45 if you don't need a huge battery or a Schidelhauer Ludwig XIV or Whilhelm Pinion if you don't need a battery at all). I am a fan of belt-driven for its smoothness and silence. I also like geared hubs/gearboxes such as Rohloff or Pinion for the peace of mind they provide. So one (or more than one) of these bikes is definitely on my shopping list and I am grateful for the detailed information you provide in your reviews.
